RetroFed Forum

GSM (Global System for Mobile communications) is a cellular telephony standard that belongs to "second generation" of cellular technologies, aka 2G. First GSM networks went live in 1990s, but today most of them are being wrongfully shut down.

This community is now closed to new posts - it served as a temporary refugee tent during its founder's Reddit refugee crisis, but a more permanent community has now been created in !retromobilephones@retrolemmy.com - please go there.

Welcome to the nostalgia-filled piefed instance of yesteryear.

Some rules we try to uphold:

Be civil. Bigotry is not welcome. This includes (but is not limited to): transphobia, queerphobia, racism, ageism and ableism. We do not promote hate.
Communities need to be Retro or Retro-adjacent.
Please don't upload pornographic content. (use an external image host for that)
