RetroFed Forum

The definitive hub for the sounds of the South. From the trunk-rattling bass of Atlanta and the dark aesthetics of Memphis to the chopped and screwed vibes of Houston, this community is dedicated to the pioneers and the new wave of Southern rap.

Whether you are here for the 808s or the production techniques, pull up and share your favorite tracks.

Rules

Maintain the Vibe\
Be respectful. Debate is fine, but toxicity, hate speech, and elitism are not tolerated.
Credit the Architects\
When posting newer tracks, try to credit the producer in the comments if they are known. The beat is half the soul of the South.
Proper Titling\
Follow the format: [Artist] - [Track Name].
Example: Three 6 Mafia - Stay Fly
No Self-Promotion Spam\
Original music is welcome, but do not flood the feed. Limit self-promo to one post per week and engage with others.

Welcome to the nostalgia-filled piefed instance of yesteryear.

If you have a question or comment you can post in !meta@retrofed.com or message @DosDude@retrofed.com or @Die4Ever@retrofed.com

In case of downtime and/or emergency, we will post updates on @DosDude@mastodon.social

Some rules we try to uphold:

Be civil. Bigotry is not welcome. This includes (but is not limited to): transphobia, queerphobia, racism, ageism and ableism. We do not promote hate.
Communities need to be Retro or Retro-adjacent.
Please don't upload pornographic content. (use an external image host for that)
