Nothing illicit? He thinks random Russian women want to have an affair with a married man for innocent personal reasons?

“Women.”

Melinda didn’t divorce him because he cheated. That’s par for the billionaire course.

I learn a lot about him from the fact that he apologizes to his staff but not the victims.

edit: I meant the survivors of the abuse network, sorry for not making that clearer.

My favorite opener for a while was “would you let bill gates have sex with you whenever he chose, for a full year, for a billion dollars?” It’s a question that got people going.

I knew I could respect anyone who replied affirmatively or questioned why I decided to start the conversation that way. These were reasonable folks who held an understanding of the vastness of a billion dollars, or saw how unsettling I or my question were.

The rare few were revolted by the premise. Either replying homophobically or in disgust at gates himself. These people were usually either not too bright or trying to put on a facade, in one respect or another.

Which is to say, discarding the idea of gaining a large sum of money is just not something that most reasonable people do. And many people view him less as a person and more as a portal to his treasury, until they’re forced to think about him. I agree with you

I would probably do it. Bill Gates is probably not willing to do it that often. I'm probably not his type, and the logistics of him showing up to whenever I am make it even less likely. I'm thinking maybe once or twice in a year, and a billion dollars is a lot of money.

So this means he's donating all his money directly to people suffering financial insecurity, along with education on how to not be immediately taken advantage of by unscrupulous scammers, right? That could be the only possible way this wankstain could earn any amount of actual respect from the rest of society.

Who among us hasn't tried to secretly slip their spouse some illegally obtained antibiotics so that they don't discover you gave them an STD you caught while cheating on them at the home of your pedophile sex trafficking Mossad blackmailer buddy, in an attempt to stop them getting some of your billions of dollars in a divorce? I mean come on, is that really so bad?

That’s where I settled as well. “Change the world” level money for, at most, a few hundred hours of work. Probably closer to a dozen, if that. You’d be a fool to pass it up

Honeypots are not just Russian. A great many countries and organized crime use this and a wide range of dirty tricks.

Strange he's apologizing for the women he cheated with but not the crotch rot.

Even if the claim of an STD is the single untruth in a sea of other now-admitted truths relating to his serial adulteries, just the fact that he was that careless should not be going without comment.

She's well out of that marriage.

does it matter? it's pretty obvious everyone of a certain wealth knew exactly what epstein was up to. knowingly and intentionally having ties with someone like that is enough for the epstein victims to deserve more of an apology than his employees.

Their point probably is that Epstein had his hands in a lot more than just procuring underage girls. Not everyone was under 18, so the term "victim" is a lot more complicated when talking about legal adults consenting to things.

Idk, I'm willing to give the guy the benefit of the doubt because, despite the bullshit with Microsoft, he did some great charity work and raised his children well, which hints at some decency if it wasn't his wife pushing him into it. There's also reason to believe that some people will be named who were not guilty, but that's only while nothing comes of the files or anything of the sort, because otherwise he squashes like a bug.

His charities are a tax evasion tool that happen to be helpful at some level.

And if he was half as honest, he wouldn't have waited for the proof to be out there before admitting what he did.

What I suspect now is there might be more, but it hasn't been released, so he won't mentioned it.

And about his decency: he abused Microsoft leading position to enact all kinds of dirty and shady tricks. MS lost quite some lawsuits because of that, but he knew very well whatever downfall would happen way too late to fix things.

That's not how taxes and charity works.

If you spend $100 minutes on charity and "write it off", that saves you $30 on taxes. You're still down $70.

(You only can claim itemized deductions if you have more than, roughly $12k of them, 24k if you're married.)

Ok Bill, here's what you do:

  1. take 2% of your net worth (1% for each "affair")
  2. give it to a charity you funded
  3. make this charity buy Microsoft products
  4. brag on TV how generous you are

That's it. Legacy saved.

Sure, but the fact that Epstein was so involved as to be his go to person to find ways to administer the std drugs to his wife is so fucking weird.

Were they just besties with utmost confidence due to their shared love for philanthropy? Or the known human trafficker facilitated or even arranged the affair?

Yeah except those charities all happen to need to spend 90% of Bill's donations on Microsoft products.

“Every meeting where I was with him were meetings with men,” Gates said. “I was never at any parties or anything like that."

“A very attractive Swedish woman and her daughter dropped by and I ended up staying there quite late.”

Police arrested a Seattle man at Bill Gates and Melinda Gates’ mansion for allegedly collecting more than 6,000 child rape photos.

Very very disturbing how quick you are to say legally consenting adults when we're talking about known sex traffickers.

But if you own and control that charity then all you have done is move $100 from one pocket to another, avoiding giving $30 to the government.

We don't have information either way for every situation, and there's a lot of the system we don't have any info about.

Jizzy Lane was obviously part of this entire thing willingly, and there were plenty of staff seemingly not related to the illegality, some of whom reported it and others may not have had any idea.

Epstein had direct intelligence connections with both Israel and Russia according to various released documents. There are almost certainly women related to those intelligence services involved in all of this at some point.

Not everything related to Epstein is as simple as the armchair warriors online want to make it out to be.

I'm not "giving him too many kudos" any more than I'm not saying he's guilty of being a pedophile until there's proof. I'm not sure why Lemmy insists on reading more into what I'm saying than what I'm really saying every time.

Probably as long as Mossad and the CIA.

The economic depression in Eastern Europe during the 90s created a lot of desperate people and vulnerable children that monsters like Epstein could prey upon. That’s why many victims of his trafficking operation were Eastern European.

Just because Gates is claiming that he slept with two supposedly adult Russian women doesn’t mean they were part of a Russian honeypot. Considering these admissions come on the back of the Epstein files release, I’m more inclined to believe it’s a limited hangout intended to soften the blowback from some of the sick shit Bill was alleged to have done with his friend, a known pedophile and child trafficker.
