Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet.

Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well.

It used to be that politicians wrote articles for newspapers in order to communicate with the wider public. This practice has been obsoleted by radio somewhat but definitely by video and TV. Which is why I think it's odd for a "politics" comm to ban video, and focus on "only articles", since that way it's not really possible to post what the politicians are saying directly but only filtered through someone elses article.

They get the message of statistics from the number of people who voted and left the spot blank. Those ballots will also have data on the people that they did vote for.

The guy in this ad is literally advocating for policy that will result in the deaths of trans people. Trans people who suddenly lose access to their medications and are not able to go elsewhere to get them are not just going to be fine. This is real measurable direct harm right now. This is a part of trans genocide. Those actions are absolutely intended to harm transgender people in an effort to erase us.

Is there a line for you? Where is that line? Do you think that if he wins he will suddenly stop being anti trans? Do you not think that him winning will also signal to all other democratic candidates running that advocating for trans genocide is actually a great idea and will win them elections?
