Satisfaction with current role at an all time low. Speaking with my manager today to talk about it and I'll be letting her know I'm actively seeking internal transfer. Good news is I've already spoken to my last manager who's more or less confirmed she has a couple of roles opening up in her new department in the next couple weeks, and that she'd happily take me on there ๐Ÿ‘

Mental health

I keep waking up with this awful feeling of dread and abandonment. Skin burning and anxiety coming out of my pores. Have to just lie there until it dissipates enough to let me move. But I canโ€™t process anything while itโ€™s not safe to. Not here.

I just want to move out of this place and have the inevitable breakdown. This isnโ€™t living.

Why do chicken skewers from supermarkets taste weird? And the texture is also weird. Is it the stick?

Serious tummy upset this morning - must have eaten something I shouldn't have. That is, I suspect it was the entire lamb rack I did up last night that was meant to last me over the weekend. But I couldn't stop eating it. Now all gone. Possible protein poisoning I reckon.

Protein keeps you fuller for longer because it doesn't digest as quickly as say vegies. You may have overloaded your system. Plus lamb is fatty. Drink a lot of water. But lamb I totally get it.

Never eaten any so can't help. Suspect the marinade, and the use of spare bits of chook leftover from separating out the good bits to be sold separately.

Alrighty.

Got home around 10ish. The crew were waiting for me which was kind of funny.

So it was just a one off thing with my heart. It went out of rhythm and got up to 180bpm for about 2 hours then everything went back to normal.

Blood test showed nothing wrong. ECG showed nothing inherently wrong.

Just lucky I guess lol

After a quick squiz at the ingredients I reckon it's the honey powders, soy sauce powders, vegetable powders, and other ingredients like gums and acidity regulators. If you were making honey soy chicken marinade yourself it wouldn't have any of these things. Not everyone has the time though.

Iโ€™ve had the Woolworths and Aldi skewers, theyโ€™re not as great as homemade and the chicken isnโ€™t like a pure cut of breast or anything, but I sometimes buy as a good quick meal in a pinch. What flavour did you have?

I agree. Wish they would sell plain ones, then I can flavour them myself. The time consuming part is the chopping and threading. To sprinkle some spice mix, or mixing some honey soy garlic in a bowl and pouring over is the quick part.

Hard not to feel that the universe has spoken under those circumstances. Here's some replacement luck ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ€ I reckon 7 should be enough, but there is more available if you would like them.

Hope you feel better soon! If you can stomach it, eating something with fibre might help move things along and reset the microbiome.

I got teriyaki this time but I have tried all the other pre marinaded ones. Thereโ€™s a pervasive flavour in the background on all of them which I can only attribute to the stick. Also the texture is off somehow. Itโ€™s hard to explain.

Its the powder flavourings. Every new chip flavour has that same lingering eww for me.

Agreed! I keep finding new chip flavours and being disappointed. A few were genuinely awful, but most are just not quite right somehow hard to define.

Not really - on a par with ice-cream poisoning, which is the pain in the back of your nose when you eat too much ice-cream too quickly.

being here is a double edged sword

more than likely our parents chose to come here because it is far away from their war torn country, which is good, also, nothing here worth over

and the fact that it's far away is not great, I miss europe and america

My ancestors reasons were:

  • Beaumaris was 30 mins drive from the city and by the beach.
  • Officers land package from WW1.
  • Stole some horses, that gran was 5th gen.

I think I need too much ice cream. I'm having what appears to be a mild penicillin reaction. Mild in that my breathing is unaffected but my pelvis and thighs are covered in a red burney rash.
