So European Union countries specifically?

The little text on the image mentions "the survey was only held in EU countries", the big text on the image doesn't care.

You realize the data includes the opinion of non-whites too right?

And Europeans invented racism? Lol, that vile exists everywhere, and long before there was a European civilization.

I am pretty sure that attachment data in some places is split like 40% Europe / 50% country but this map doesn't show this nuance.

You can extrapolate from the other maps. Too bad they are so small though.

Haha, lol, I didn't even notice that : ). TBF it's been a topic for a few years already, but in that case it might have been a different reason just as well.

I think you were right about opposition being strongest in the capital My experience is big cities are more pro-european in general and rural villages generally more 'pro-region', I don't know about Hungary in particular but i wouldn't be surprised if that were true there too, not just since Orbán left but also in 2022 2021

It overlaps significantly with areas where there are strong nationalist and sometimes separatist movements.

What a surprise!

You're confusing things there, buddy. You say racism but you describe white supremacy.

white supremacy, beliefs and ideas purporting natural superiority of the lighter-skinned, or “white,” human races over other racial groups. (www.britannica.com/topic/white-supremacy)

Saying white people are not able to experience racism is racism, also saying all white people inherently desire white supremacy is racism:

racism, the belief that humans may be divided into separate and exclusive biological entities called “races”; that there is a causal link between inherited physical traits and traits of personality, intellect, morality, and other cultural and behavioral features; and that some races are innately superior to others. (www.britannica.com/topic/racism)

LOL true. But you can hardly blame Eastern Europeans.
It is also the area with the most support for a united EU army.

Definitely for at least decades, if not for eons. Obviously there are exceptions, but on average the countryside is just not as open and accepting as the average large city dweller.

A tiny bit of context: Hungary just had national elections about 2 months ago, finally pulling the handbrake and getting rid of the previous government's 16 year old reign. The previous PM (Orbán) had been inching closer to Russia every year, and this year the elections were (among many other things) basically about showing loyalty to Europe instead of taking the final step on the slippery slop...

You're indeed wrong about Germany, the different attachments don't follow the iron curtain at all. Both west-and east Germany have regions with different attachment color.

Most of the regions with a strong regional attachment seem to correspond to the larger independent states before German unification in the 19th century: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unification_of_Germany. Mecklenburg, Wurttemberg, Bayern and Upper Saxony are all 4 recognizable on the map of the op. The bit below Denmark was ruled in a personal union by the Danish monarch before the unification wars.

France tried their best to split Saarland off from Germany several times, which might explain their strong regional attachment.

Dear Europeans, recognise what you have before you let some insane populist convince you that you don't need the EU. Over the channel, we're economically 8% down from where we would have been if we hadn't left, there's no money for anything and we've lost a chunk of consumer protection, a lot of data protection and our supreme court seem to be busily dismantling our equalities legislation, desp...

there's no money for anything

There is, but there's no political will to spend it where it's needed. The government's spending limits are self imposed.

Came here to say this, lowest attachment in countries that pay in the most, highest attachment in countries that receive the most.

It's not perfect, some German areas around the Rhine seem to have a high attachment, as well as Luxemburg, but there is an undeniable pattern.

Mmk, I've read all of this and I need you to understand: the Epstein class love that you're attacking white people and not them. You are a great, thoughtless digital attack dog.

Experiencing institutional racism is not the same thing as experiencing individual racism. For example, you are portraying individual racism right now. You're right that systemic racism is an ongoing problem that we need to solve. You are 100% dead wrong that white people can't experience racism. This is braindead liberal logic.

I'd argue every race (so far they exist in the first place) could experience all kinds of racism and xenofobia.

I've heard of Europeans visiting current-day Japan tell of individual racism, where one family would welcome you in sharing their home from a inner need to share; while the family next door might not talk to you, from an inner fear of all things strange and foreign. This is not exclusive to Japan of course. I heard others tell stories of institutional racism in South-America and Africa where white people encounter corrupt officials (a quite common thing in broken countries) and are basically forced to pay double because of their roots. Of course this is nothing compared to the racism by white people enflicted upon the world, especially the last millenium.

I think in many ways i would agree with the thoughtless digital attack dog we're responding to, but I do not believe it is braindead liberal logic as I don't believe we've encountered a European or North-American individual. It find it more likely to be the cause of anti-western narrative, perhaps from an Asian country. But I do not care why they argue, i care what they argue. And the statement that someone cannot experience racism because of they belong to a specific race is baseless hate.

I suspect the Aquitaine region is skewed by containing both the French Basque country and the Béarn. The rest of it is pretty lacking in terms of regional identity - I would say identity is either even more local than regional or a somewhat flat, national one around here.

Funny how nationalists, can't possibly imagine that there could be something other than national entities and communities, as if the Westphalian paradigm would be really so total as it pretends to be.

There is no "Euronation", there doesn't need to be to have a common European Union, with a common civil society, legal and judicial institutions and common law, to do the things the member states can't do on their own. Of course Russia and the US hate that because they'd rather prefer those things being decided in DC or Moscow instead, without the influence from anyone from all these European countries.

Not really, Germany is a much larger net contributor than France, yet European identification is a bit stronger. Also Bulgaria vs Romania etc. The correlation you are proclaiming is actually not that strong.

Of course ther can be something other, we have that monstrosity right now.

There are no bigger bootlickers to DC that these sell out EU traitors.
They bend over and let the US terrorists blow up our ges supply so they can benefit, sanction ourselves and thank them for the tariffs.
And support these scumbag nazis in their unprovoked attack on Iran.
And we suckers now also have to buy more US war crap.

It's the Eurorats who have destroyed European independence.
We are nothing but their pawns to be used as proxies against Russia.

You keep imagining this EU farce makes us somehow strong while we're rapidly being destroyed and bankrupted.

It is probably a waste to ask you, how it is that the US is driving the same anti-EU propaganda that Russia is and supporting even the identical parties for that.
It makes zero sense if the EU is "the biggest bootlicker to DC".

Member states have shifted substantial arms procurement away from the US, contrary to your claim too.

Given the delusional stuff you are saying about gas and your opposition to the sanctions against the Russian regime, at least it gets clear where you are coming from. If you prefer being ruled by DC or Moscow, after destroying Brussels.

It's clearly you who is delusional if you don't see these EU traitors are nothing but sell-outs destroying Europe for the US regime.
Maybe you were sleeping when the US terrorists blew up Nordstream and denied us cheap gas from Russia.
What did our EU 'leaders' do? Nothing.
On the contrary, they decide to buy 8x more expensive fracking gas from them.
And you can keep sticking your head in the sand and not see how that is destroying our competitivity and many companies close, fire workers and/or move.
And then the US regime start bombing Iranian schoolgirls unprovoked causing even more crisis for us.
And what is the reaction from our bootlickers? Sactions on the aggressor? No, they sanction Iran for defending themselves.
What did that embarrassing lapdog VDL say about this clear violation of international law? "Europe must accept the world as it is".
And worse, many EU countries even send ships in support.
Same as they keep supporting the genocide state despite their cheap empty words.
I bet you buy them too.

Member states have shifted substantial arms procurement away from the US, contrary to your claim too.

You offer zero sources for your faulty claims.
Again simply suckered by lying politician's words and 'intentions'.

So not so long ago, while we're already being bankrupted and these EU bastards were already stealing our pensions and social welfare money to throw in the bottomless corrupt pit that is Ukraine, the orange clown said we should pay even more for their wars. We already more than tripled imports. Europe now accounts for 33% of global arms imports.

Paying even more while we're already in shit was a bit too much to sell to the EU population.
Guess what happened then?
Trump does his little act as if EU is no longer friendly, some meaningless threats pulling out of NATO, posturing and talk about Greenland and suddenly the EU lapdogs now have an excuse to say we need to be 'independent' and buy more weapons.
Hey look, exactly what Trump wanted in the first place.
58% of all major weapons imported into Europe we buy from that warmongering country.
217% increase from 2024 to 2025.
That's really "moving away from the US" right?
Thank god the media is pushing the important achievements of independence like making our own Office software. That will show em!

Facts are the US regime is out of stock with all their illegal wars and now has effectively outsourced a big part of the anti-Russia effort and bill to us so they can concentrate on bombing brown kids in the middle-east or further antagonize China.

There are long term agreements and contracts making sure we still buy more US crap.
And guess what will happen in 2 years when Trump is gone?
Just like that we will be best friends again, and the temporary EU independent show can end.
Of course we will have spent all those billions by then and we can use these arms to support their endless imperialist wars like we always have done.
Like good vassals.

But you can't even look ahead that far and have no grasp of geopolitics.
Keep buying the independent strong EU nonsense talk, and don't look at the devastating consequences for the population while living in your fantasy world.
We're definitely not ruled by DC!

Wow, you are really into the full Russian narrative. Never mind that this mythical cheap resources from a regime that is openly waging a hybrid war against the rest of Europe, did not help Hungary at all in getting energy prices down, let alone keep inflation in check. Its way worse than in Poland which has done everything it could to get away from that "cheap energy". Those not falling for Russian propaganda are doubling down on the transition to renewable energies and the necessary infrastructure modifications needed to support it. The shift in the last 5 years has been very substantial and is already paying off during the price shock caused by the US regimes war against the Iranian regime.

But yeah both, the US and Russian regime support the identical parties in the EU, which are reliably acting against the national interests of their own countries and for the interest of their sponsors. Surprise, surprise.

The EU is massively investing in strategic autonomy, which of course cannot be achieved over night but there are very meaningful programs going on right now to get there. All of them are wildly opposed by people supporting your stance. Those programs also will not disappear when Trump is gone. Galileo is there to stay, so will be Iris2, European arms programs, improved coordination etc. Unless of course those parties sponsored by Russia manage to convince the majority of the voters. In that case those projects might be killed and we will enter the age of true national sovereignty ... for sure.

Oh, so now the EU is not just treasonous but also fascist, never mind that actual fascists in the EU like the AfD or the FPÖ are staunchly against the EU with identical arguments like yours which are the same to what I can read on RT. Pointing that out, I assume, is being a Russophobe.

Hungary was not buying at oh so low prices and the costs and inflation were already there before any issues with getting the oil or gas through Ukraine, a country that is the victim of a blood soaked invasion by Russia which aims at imperial conquest.

I agree, probably everything said here, no one is going to be convinced by the other here but you should really go into yourself if wishing others dying a painful death in some war, merely because of different opinions is the kind of person you want to be. Hopefully this is just an internet thing.
