WebP is a pretty awesome format with awesome compression, both lossless and lossy. It's only behind JXL which is not widely adopted.

Webp is way more efficient

Xfce is developed primarily by a single person so thats not surprising

Yes, it's an export option in Gimp, and I also use it everywhere. It's smaller than both PNG and JPG, does the job of both (lossy and lossless), and has better quality at the same size.

Yeah I'm not complaining. I'm actually surprised they've successfully demonstrated wayland support after jumping from 4.18.
