It is outrageous that he could be convicted on absolutely zero evidence beyond a username "match" anyway! This case had way more problems than just a damn typo!

I REALLY wasn't expecting them to get a conviction on a case with zero evidence, and I also know that any electronics they took from him, were destroyed in the process.

Fuck the police and the whole damn system.

I blame TV cop dramas. Those don't just glorify cops (who are just as fallable as the rest of us) they write scripts that involve them breaking the rules and making us think it's justified so they can catch the "bad guys".

Clearly this Skyrim fan was a bigger threat to the world than anyone in the Epstein files.

I'm baffled and a little frightened that they got a conviction.

Also angry that the victim probably won't be getting compensation. He should never have to labor again.

We listen to quite a bit of true crime podcasts and it really is frightening.

The one that we are listening to now is called “Earwitness” and it all hinges on someone claiming to have overheard a phone call where the suspect supposedly confessed to the murder. The other person on the line said that the suspect never said that at all.

There was no actual physical evidence of him committing the crime. Just a few witness statements one of which was changed so many times due to the bad interview techniques used by the cops and the other being this person who was paid to testify about the phone call.
