I've only really been tangentially aware of these for the past few years -- I think I may have been recommended one of the first when it was Nintendo Fangames Direct in like 2020 -- but these showcases fill me with so much joy. Someone else put together a sort-of response video to showcase a few more outside of the heavy Nintendo focus, but either way I am loving that mods, ROM hacks, and fan games are starting to see more love these days. |

You'd probably enjoy Retro Revisted's channel then, it's a monthly version of F3 kinda, more* of a euro focus: https://www.youtube.com/@RetroRevisited Admittedly I don't usually watch, I just go to the video description for all the links they've assembled 😅. |

That actually sounds fantastic for me right now. I made a resolution this year not to buy any more games^†^ when I have so many unplayed games in my library plus all the retro/hacks/fangames/etcetera that I've been playing. I'll admit most of the time I fall back to Pokémon ROM hacks on my retromajigger, but I'd love getting to see more varied and interesting projects to try out. So many of these are just pure passion projects, too, which warms my heart a little. Thanks for the link. ^†^ Which I did fail, but rather than completely give up I moved the goalpost to be kinder to myself and actually work towards accomplishing something: this year I've only spent ~$5 on games for myself, $10 if I count the copy I gifted to a friend (Dome Keeper, btw, while it was on sale, very fun roguelike would recommend) |

https://retrogametalk.com/repo/romhacks/ https://retrogametalk.com/repo/translations/ Enjoy infinite content (or ignore and do your backlog first lol) if you wish. RGT is very active for the niche community this all is, so you get a decent amount of comments and ratings to help filter the good/personally interesting stuff out more efficiently. But you need an account to see it since these are all pre-patched releases ready to go, so here's a partial screencap of the front page of Fan Translations right now:

I did something similar as you starting two years ago, and I managed to clear out everything I was willing to play from my combined libraries that had built up. Was about 225 games, whittled it down to 105 and I made peace with the fact I'm not even interested in giving the remainder a shot. All that really remains is crap from the very first Steam sale where I got entire Pub/Dev libraries for 90+% off, so I don't feel guilty since I didn't seek any of those games left out. My loose rule was play any game I installed for at least 1 hour. I ended up finding 23 games worth finishing, which given the context I think was pretty good overall. |
