I used to be excited about this kind of stuff with drones: Aereal monitoring of landscapes! Precision ag! But the more I learn the more I think you'd win so much more with a knowledgeable person on the ground instead of a drone operator. Yes, the drone can cover large areas - but the information you can gather per image is extremely limited compared with what you can get from the ground from a person with expertise, and I often feel that this fact gets forgotten over the excitement about a new tech that can cover such large areas.
