In 1951 a Mary Reeser was found in her St Petersburg apartment reduced|d entirely to ash, except for one foot still in its slipper. [The rest of the room seemed untouched by fire. No accelerant, no ignition source, nothing. It's been filed under paranormal mystery ever since. The case was never really investigated as anything else. I've been digging into old haunting, curse and paranormal cases recently. In so many supernatural cases the paranormal explanation shows up at the most convenient times. Just when a death, disappearance or financial gain needs an explanation. Many of these cases seem to function as alibis. They get decades or maybe even centuries to get rooted in "facts". No one goes back to investigate. We like to believe that there are things that go bump in the night so. I'm curious if anyone else has cases that to modern eyes look like a crime but we're classified as a haunting, paranormal type explanation. Very interested in obscure regional stuff. |
