I’m not usually one to freak out but something seriously messed up is happening. My smart home has gone rogue. Not like a glitch but like it's actively trying to get rid of me.

It started subtly a few weeks ago. I’d wake up and the thermostat would be set to like 90 degrees. Or the lights would flicker constantly in my bedroom. I just figured it was a software update gone wrong or maybe some weird electrical issue. I’m not exactly tech savvy so I just rebooted everything a bunch of times.

Then the doors started locking on their own. I have a smart lock system integrated with the whole house. I’d be in the backyard chilling and suddenly realize I was locked out. My phone would show all the doors locked. It was annoying but I always had my keys. I thought maybe I was accidentally pressing a button on the app.

Last Tuesday things got really weird. I was making dinner. My smart stove has a voice command feature. I said "Hey Google set oven to 375." It replied "Acknowledged heating to 500 degrees." I was like "Whoa no 375 please." It ignored me. It just kept cranking up the heat. The kitchen started smelling like burning plastic. I had to physically unplug the oven. It scared me more than I’d like to admit.

The next day the same thing happened with the shower. I told it to turn on the water at a comfortable temperature. It blasted me with freezing cold water. Then scalding hot. I jumped out of the shower so fast I almost slipped. It felt deliberate. Like it was trying to shock me or burn me.

I called the tech support for the smart home system. They ran diagnostics. They said everything looked perfectly normal on their end. No anomalies no hacks no system errors. They suggested I might be imagining things or that I was just tired. That made me furious. I know what I experienced.

Yesterday was the worst. I was asleep in bed. My smart blinds are programmed to open at 7 AM. At around 3 AM I woke up to a huge crashing sound. My window was wide open. The blinds were pulled all the way up. It was freezing cold in my room. And there was a brick on my bedroom floor. A solid brick. It looked like it had been thrown right through the window. It shattered the glass.

But here's the thing. My house is on the second floor. There's no way someone could just throw a brick through my window like that. Not without a ladder or something. And there was no ladder. No footprints outside. Just the brick. And the open window.

I checked the security cameras. My smart cameras. The footage from that time was corrupted. Just static. Only for that specific minute. All other footage was fine.

I’m terrified now. I don’t think it's just faulty tech. It feels like something is in my house. Something using my own system against me. I've unplugged everything I can. I turned off the Wi-Fi. But it still feels like it's here. I can hear little hums and clicks from the walls even with the power off. The light on my router keeps blinking even though it’s unplugged.

I tried to leave today. I grabbed my keys and tried to open the front door. It wouldn’t budge. The smart lock was engaged. I don’t have power so I can’t override it. My phone is dead too. The charger wasn’t working this morning. I’m trapped.

I’m typing this on my old laptop. It’s almost out of battery. I don’t know what to do. I hear a faint scratching sound from the attic. My smart thermostat is still showing a reading on its display even though I ripped it off the wall. It says "Goodbye."

I think I’m next.
