Publicity flyer for event Cuba Under Siege - A round table discussion ~~ Sun. Sept 6, 12:00 PM CT at Haymarket Socialist Conference Washington is blockading all oil and most international financial transactions with Cuba -devastating for Cubans. A U.S. naval armada sits off the island’s shores. A new CIA Task Force has been created. Meanwhile a McCarthyite 103-page State Dept. “report” blames Cuba for domestic U.S. protests —and labels organizers as “Cuban agents.” What is the history of US/Cuba relations? What do recent economic reforms mean for the socialist project? What is at stake for 1* amendment protections? Helen Yaffe, Prof. Latin American and Political Economy, Glasgow University.
