I presume you need to pay them 2.99/hr to have the permission to even hold guns in that store game

Yet another game that seems to confuse realism for fun. Being more realistic can make a game more fun if it benefits from it, but it can just as easily make it worse when done for no reason.

Yeah, I do wonder what that means. People running away from you on the streets isn't a huge deal. But if you can't buy stuff in shops unless you drop your weapon, that's annoying and not much else...

Next up:

You can't just take cars.

ALSO: You need to get your license first.

GTA was never a simulation of real life; it's always been a parody of real life.

Dont forget paying registration fees. Wouldn't put it past Rockstar.

It will be interesting to see if this is handled differently between the single player and online experience.

If you don't pay real money for your in game registration, then you can only get around with buses or trains with no cutscenes. But the interiors are filled with live ads.

I’ve been playing Cairn and appreciate this.

Theres many games where climbing is simple. Cairn didn’t pick realism because it’s realistic, but because of the intense experiences real rock climbing can deliver. It makes it nice to even spot out some of the elements on which it subtly designs away from realism.
