Lowkey, nerding out about the start of WW1 got me laid in college.

Turns out; lying down on a grassy hill, arms wrapped around holding eachother's heads up as we stare at the Milky Way while someone autistically rants about Realpolitik passionately explains the avoidability and moral greys of the first world war over a flask of rum; can, in fact, lead to an even better time!

I think at that point you could've been talking about your 4th favourite dinosaur and it wouldn't have changed the outcome

Yep, people respond to conviction of speech even if what they're saying is unverifiable nonsense.

*looks you dead in the eye*
I'm certain the topic of your speech was secondary to the mood

My pet theory is that the royal family got together to kill some peasants so they could keep all their wealth.

"And while Austra-Hungary had a valid reason to go to war, they sent crazy demands that would destroy Serbian sovereignty. Russia, who also wanted the Balkans as their Sphere of Influence..."

Ironically, historically, that's a bad plan. Most of the major gains in rights for the lower classes have come due to labour shortages.

There's a reason the rich suddenly got a lot more accepting of feminism just after WWII, and it wasn't an epiphany that women actually deserved those rights.
