I'm sure that'll show Xbox that they're in the wrong, by getting people to play a prototype/canceled Super NES game that may or may not be completely playable (to the end).

Anyway, this wouldn't be the first time a game was too big for an old console. Secret of Mana was one of the best-selling games on the Super NES, but a lot of people didn't realise it was a sequel, to Final Fantasy Adventure for the Game Boy. In Japan, these games were sold as Seiken Densetsu (lit., "the legend of the holy sword") and Seiken Densetsu 2. Japan got Seiken Densetsu 3, but it nearly filled the Super NES cartridge, and when they tried to translate it to English, it became too big. So it simply never came out in the west. Fan translations exist, and you could play it in an emulator, but when the Super NES Classic Edition came out, they included the English translation, now called Trials of Mana. They even put out a 3D remake of it, much like the Secret of Mana remake. It was on GamePass for a little while. I found it long, drawn-out, and boring — absolutely a product of its time.

Just a small correction: The SNES Classic had the first official release of StarFox 2. Trials of Mana was included as part of Collection of Mana on Switch.

Oops. Yes, that's correct. A lot of us were able to pull the Trials of Mana ROM from that somehow and get it on the Super NES Classic, or an emulator.
