Tests are in every pharmacy and relatively cheap.

20 to 30 dollars is absolutely not relatively cheap. If it was 5 bucks sure I'd agree with you.

There's a really bad surge in Texas right now that hit me like a truck. I'd had it a few times before, but this was by far the worst and the shortness of breath and brain fog aren't going away this time.

Lucky you. I got that the first time I had Covid during the pandemic. I was one of the "lucky" 35% or of people that ended up with those long term effects. I still lose words in mid sentence and can't remember what I was going to say next. The word is there in my head, and then instantly gone. It's the worst thing in the world......

I got the covid brain-fog back in 2023, it took me almost 18 months to recover. It almost felt like I was getting Alzheimers, forgetting names of everyday things.

And for some of us, it will never go away.

I had that. I used nicotine to recover from it. Sounds strange but it worked. Low dose nic patch, worn 24/7, for about 3 weeks.

The downside is I started vaping again (very low dose nic) but I got my brain back.

According to my pulmonologist, no.

Still haven't had one with symptoms. Ftfy.

Yeah that's me. I tested and had it, back in January 2021, when my whole family had it. No symptoms for me. I always say I never get sick, but I'm fairly confident I'm just a disease vector at this point and I just never get symptomatic. My kids will bring stuff home from school, my wife will get it, and fortunately I'm able to just carry on.

i know people that are more resistant to taking the vaccine then when it was first introduced. what a surprise a bunch of them got the variant last year, and spread it to my family.

Shunning them can act as a second layer of vaccination.

Drowning kills over 4,000 people per year in the U.S. — that's 20× more than 200.

Let's ban water.

Accidental falls killed over 40,000 Americans aged 65+ in 2023 alone...

🦠 Flu: CDC estimates roughly 10,000–80,000 deaths per year, depending heavily on the season...

What a completely incoherent thing to say. The title says per month so 24k a year which is six times the drowning deaths not one twentieth.

Edit: I am also bad at math, but it's still a dumb argument. If it were possible to ban COVID that would be unequivocally good, banning water obviously has some problems.

Yeah, that why it was first misdiagnosed as a respiratory illness and only months later it was discovered it’s a BLOOD illness. We should call it the ‘blood flu’ … might make people realize it’s not a simple cold.

"It only kills old or unhealthy people. What's the big deal? Why should I have to sacrifice for them?"

Bunch of ghouls won't get it unless they're impacted directly. Even then, they'd probably try to pivot.

Gotta love when people try to fix someone’s bad math by fucking up their own

I fucked up a word, rhe math is correct for the unit in the headline and I corrected it so so fast my comment doesn't even have an edit disclaimer.

Calm down.

No, 200 x 12 is 2400, or 2.4K annually (if we don’t factor in 90% of deaths and calculate it as 180 x 12). You’re off by a factor of 10. Covid deaths are 60% as common as drowning using that math, not 600%.

Hasn't everyone had it at least once by now?

My husband and I still have not had it. At first we thought maybe we were just asymptomatic. Nope, I got sick and hospitalized from the vaccine with myocarditis and the doctor said if I got actual Covid I’d probably die. So my husband has masked up really thoroughly as well.

Month vs Year

Also deaths from covid are preventable, unlike accidents

Jesus have you read any Instagram comments sections? On anything almost, people are absolutely vile to each other. I didn't get it the hostility and name calling is just astounding.

Instagram culture is awful. I'm sure Meta actively boosts the worst comments, basically forcing rage bait engagement

Never tested positive for Covid over here. One cold one time in 2025, other than that I just haven’t been sick since 2019. I also had a stockpile of N95 masks before the pandemic because I was worried about a pandemic. I figured it would last about 5-10 years, and so far I have sadly been basically correct.

Lockdowns didn’t work even when there was global news coverage of a pandemic happenening. What makes you think they would work now?

Our flu shots are still quadrivalent, but two of the strains they protect against haven’t been detected since 2019, since so many people were masking in 2020. The lockdowns worked reasonably well IMO, you can’t expect perfection.

thats similarr to what I said

I just dont get it. Did I miisinterpret their reply?

I said that a certain number of species of Influenza and COVID went extinct BECAUSE of lockdowns.

Their reply was : 'Lockdowns dont work' ...

... ?¿何 ¿?

So essentially Covid is the proverbial "bimbofication virus"
