Guys do not do this, it's gonna cause a mess further down the line. "The problem with creating these links is that they aren't managed in any meaningful way. If that library is removed, the link becomes broken. If the library is upgraded, it may encounter an error because of the link that it doesn't expect to be there." https://askubuntu.com/questions/461706/is-it-okay-or-not-to-symlink-librari...
If anyone is forwarding shit the way OP is, I'm pretty sure this is a "move the earth to hack this shit to work right now" action instead of "here are the foundations of my best practice based system" |

what's the most mature, stable distro there is? One wherein I can stream and download torrents?
Debian or Fedora are the most popular and therefore your safest and easiest options. Debian is slightly more common and therefore most tutorials and guides will be for Debian if they only have documentation for one distribution. Debian is also slightly more stable than Fedora since the packages are older and better tested, but I have never had a problem with Fedora breaking. If you want to have the latest version of new software faster go with Fedora, if you want the easiest mainstream experience (the path of least resistance) go with Debian. But don't overthink, both are great options you can't go wrong with as long as you don't fall down the rabbit hole of endless customization. |
