Schools are more secure than airports. It's not just theatre. She got away with a lot because people did recognize that she belonged there and she was unarmed. And she still got lucky.
even with all that, the teacher she was working with should have verified her position, I don't know if that's policy or not at that district, but a simple phone call to the office could have exposed her in about 20 seconds of effort, hopefully it's policy now, usually subs are escorted to a classroom by someone from the office that verifies they are who they say they are and checks with the district office to match up their badge and ID. at least that's how my district does it. |
