This year has featured a large number of Democrats ceding ground to right-wing narratives about transgender people. Multiple Democratic candidates have released anti-trans ads, taken anti-trans votes, or otherwise staked out positions that would harm the transgender community in their quest for political power.

And what did it get you? Trump still calls you a tr*nny and your queer voters hate you now. There is no minority you can sacrifice without pissing off your base, figure out the incredibly fucking basic political maneuver of “why aren’t you talking about issues that matter to voters, like grocery and fuel costs?”

But if she slurs us she might get the positive attention from the GOP she so desperately craves.
