Screenshot of 2 versions of a paragraph of the new commercial terms for Meta services. The word train is encircled in red in the old version and is missing in the new version.

Meta quickly changed their brand new commercial terms after the news of their plans to "train" on data broke and were covered by major publications!

Seems they haven't heard of the web archive yet: http://web.archive.org/web/20261016114851/https://www.facebook.com/legal/commercial_terms_preview

The word "train" disappeared within a day of the #AI training speculations.

I would say that "develop Meta products" would still allow them to train their AIs on the content, even if that word is missing.

Yeah. This is strictly a PR move. They're still going to train, and by the time someone drags them through the court over it in 30 years, if any people are left alive, it'll be a $2 payout to each of the million people affected in THAT particular country.

“Improve” is sufficiently broad. Unless they explicitly state “NOT train”, the removal amounts to nothing.

They will still use it to train. Just like they have been since day one.
