It was a subject of intense debate during the Obama administration, and like every thing this current administration takes for granted in their authoritarian sweep, the basic infrastructure for those actions was installed by under Democratic administrations, or at least neoliberal/ administrations.

This was the debate we were having, and liberals of the time were largely fine with the role of the presidency, because it was there team in charge. I strongly recommend this old episode because exactly this problem was being discussed almost 15 years ago. And if you don't have a problem with it when it's a Democrat doing it, you don't have a problem with it.

I think you are confused. Trump speaks for the wealthy. As AOTUS he has broken more laws to enrich himself then anyone could have ever fathomed. There is no one to speak for the people. You have the Senate which is captured by the wealthy as designed from the start, you have the two-tierd judicial branch which is also captured by the wealthy, and you have the executive branch which is, of course, captured by the wealthy.

That just leaves Congress who in theory should represent the people but they have been bought off by the wealthy as well. That leaves the people with zero voice.
