Well, Lemmy is a polar opposite user representation than reddit. Reddit is corpo-trash now crawling with mostly bots. The people here have rejected that model in one sense or another and many have, understandably, quite strong feelings about it and are not shy about how they let it be known. Back in the day when I posted to forums, I would lurk for a month or two to get a feel for the site and the tone prior to ever posting. It tends to make your first foot forward (first post) more appropriate and relevant.
