"A new female inmate at an island prison is abused by fellow convicts and staff, and her disillusionment with the new warden prompts her to join in an attempted breakout and mutiny." One of Jess’ most financially-succesful movies, and a true trailblazer of the Women In Prison subgenre. There's a sense of class, and even artfulness, to 99 Women that is missing from the majority of its knockoffs. |
