Context, he did a campaign ad with his opponents biological mother who said "she [the opponent] is a liar." The kicker? The mother was separated from her daughter and son because her husband raped the governor prospect from the ages of 9-12. She is being called a liar for telling the investigators what happened.

The mother stayed with the husband up until his death, after they fled the state to avoid jail time.

Vivek has doubled down, saying she won't talk about real issues so he had to attack her on this. This has been met with largely universal backlash, with only the most loyal and decrepit republicans defending him.

They're like the UK far right, call themselves the party of "protecting our wimmin an' gurlz" while half of them have convictions for domestic abuse and the other half cheer on women getting beaten on the head and dragged by the hair for heckling.

And people still fall for it :(
