Investigation by +972 Magazine and Local Call revealed that Israel used an AI program called Lavender. The AI marked up to 37,000 Palestinians as suspected militants. The intelligence sources said Israeli Forces treated the output of this machine as a human decision. Soldiers only checked for 20 seconds if target was a man. And system had 10% error rate. So thousands of innocent people were marked by mistake.

Israeli Forces bombed these targets in their homes at night. They did this because it is easier to locate people there. They used dumb bombs to save money, destroying entire buildings. For every junior target, army allowed up to 15 or 20 civilian deaths. For senior commanders, they allowed over 100 civilian deaths. Another system called Wheres Daddy tracked people to their family homes. It sent an alert when target entered the house.

As a result, thousands of Palestinians, mostly women and children, were killed. Sources said the policy was very permissive. One source said it had element of revenge. Israeli Forces denied these claims. They said they only use AI as auxiliary tools and follow international law. But the investigation shows how automated systems caused massive civilian deaths.
