According to the original post on Reddit:

The incident occurred after a child opened the gate of the house, letting the dog out.
Despite the severe injuries on his arm, Pedro Henrique is not at risk of death.
He is still hospitalized this Saturday (8/30), at Bebedouro Hospital, also in the interior of São Paulo.
The great-granddaughter came out unharmed from the attack.
