Update: Matrix homeserver is back up

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/52505171

Hi all,

As you are probably aware, Matrix is currently (slowly) trying to restore its massive database from backups.

In the meantime I've created a temp matrix room for folks to join.

https://matrix.to/#/#dbzer0:tchncs.de

If your matrix account is based on Matrix's homeserver (like mine is) you'll have to signup for a new matrix account on a working server. I just picked tchncs.de at random.

Are you sure you changed the homeserver in the Element login page? AFAIK it will not automatically deduce it, like XMPP clients do.

That's odd, but it might have defaulted back to matrix.org when you signed in.
