Ever since I got a ban a few months ago, my account has had problems posting and commenting on some instances or communities. Especially in the canada@lemmy.ca. community. Here are some screen shots from the errors I'm getting. This one is trying to reply to a user comment in a thread in a post on canada@lemmy.ca
And these are errors showing up in my application log in the Summit app for Piefed and Lemmy:

My best guess would be that Piefed support is still in early development for a lot of the apps, and so this might be a bug specific to Summit. The next time you have a similar error, could you try doing the same action from the browser version of the site? I went looking for a guide on how far each app has come, but so far I only found this: https://piefed.social/community/fediverse/wiki/piefed-app You could also ask in !summit@lemmy.world |

I don't know. There was a bug in the ban feature and an admin had to go do some database manipulation to fix it. I wonder if it's related. |

I'll keep an eye on this in case it comes up again. The first message mentions that "account instance piefed.ca" and "API instance lemmy.ca", so there could be some misconfiguration in the app? You could try logging out completely and logging in again. If that doesn't work, you could also try backing up your settings and then wiping the app, then setting it up again. That might also explain the database error mentioned in the app log (some post ID not existing in a database table), if it's reading from Lemmy but trying to write to Piefed? If not, we might have some bigger issues to look into with Piefed 😄 |

Sure thing! I'll also try with the website and see what happens. I'll keep you posted here. |

Hi Otter, I'm using Piefed.ca in a browser and noticed that none of the /c/canada@lemmy.ca posts were showing up in my home page. Looking up the community, I see that I have the "Join" button as if I never joined. If I click it, it stays as "Join" and my status doesn't change. I tried refreshing the page and it looks like I never joined. Here's a screenshot: |

Yea that is odd, I was able to subscribe and unsubscribe just now. Can you try refreshing the page while holding down the shift key? That should refresh while ignoring any cached content. If that doesn't work, we also just added these two alternative frontends that you can try. We haven't posted about them yet, but we'll do that soon as well: |
