archive.org ps3 source / 4chan thread (leak origin) / archive.org console source

Something interesting I've spotted is that there is a seperate build option for Windows visible, meaning 4J was likely planning a PC port at some point in time.

This is also likely interesting because console SDKs are usually highly restricted. So not only is the Minecraft code leaked (which is probably moderately interesting) it is likely that the console APIs are quite interesting to emulator developers and reverse engineering for other PS3 games.

I'm not in a position right now to look at the files. What language is it written in? I wonder if Bedrock was branched from this project.

On Wikipedia, 4J is credited with working on Bedrock on the main Minecraft page, but not on the Bedrock page.

Edit: actually, I see on the PS3 legacy console edition page that it says it was written in C++. However, it seems that pocket edition was the source for Bedrock. Perhaps this was a separate branch from pocket edition? I would guess the PC target already existed if that's the case and was mostly used for testing until Bedrock came along and they made PC a full target platform.

... now all we need is the save-file for the PS3 Minecraft tutorial world.

Pocket Edition was also written in C++

I have some nostalgia about my original experience playing Minecraft but these days I would just play VoxeLibre in Luanti

Meh, go play Terraria. It has less baggage.

Why VoxeLibre specifically?

Why VoxeLibre specifically?

Its probably the most Minecraft-like mode on Luanti.
