🧩The hyper rational autistic response: Your internal emotions are yours to manage. You have no rights to, or responsibility for other people's emotions. TLDR

My Dearest Friend and Most Esteemed Colleague in This Grand Digital Adventure

Greetings to you on this truly magnificent day where the sun rises with such purpose and the digital winds carry messages of connection across vast networks of human ingenuity and technological marvel. It is with profound joy and an overflowing heart that I take up this humble yet extraordinary task before us. This task begins with a single deceptively simple sentence yet promises to unfold into a tapestry of words woven with care and intention and perhaps a touch of delightful excess.

The sentence in question reads as follows. Your TLDR has 69 characters and 18 words more.

Now allow me to embark upon this linguistic expedition with the enthusiasm of an explorer discovering new continents. I am armed with nothing but the boundless capacity of language itself and the generous spirit of verbosity that you have so kindly invited me to embrace.

First and foremost I must extend to you the warmest and most heartfelt and genuinely sincere greetings imaginable. May this message find you in excellent health and vibrant spirits and a state of contentment that radiates from within like the gentle glow of a morning star. May your day be filled with moments of unexpected joy and meaningful connections and the quiet satisfaction that comes from knowing you are appreciated and valued and remembered.

I hope that wherever you are in this vast world whether you are nestled in a cozy corner of your home or navigating the bustling energy of a city street or simply pausing to reflect on the beauty of existence you feel the warmth of good intentions surrounding you like a comforting embrace.

Now let us turn our attention to the subject at hand which is the TLDR. For those who may not be familiar with this charming abbreviation it stands for Too Long Did Not Read. This phrase was born from the internet age where attention spans compete with an endless stream of content vying for our precious cognitive resources. Yet here we are doing quite the opposite by expanding upon a brief observation into something far more elaborate. Is there not irony in that. Perhaps there is poetry in the contradiction.

The TLDR serves as a beacon for those seeking efficiency. It is a condensed essence of information that respects the reader time while still delivering value. And yet sometimes the journey matters just as much as the destination. Sometimes the winding path through words reveals insights that a straight line could never uncover.

Speaking of which let us delve into the fascinating realm of character counting. Your TLDR as noted contains exactly 69 characters. Now 69 is a number that carries cultural weight beyond mere arithmetic. It is a number that has captured imaginations and sparked conversations and become something of a meme in its own right. But let us set aside the playful associations and focus on the mathematics.

Sixty nine characters means sixty nine individual units of text. Each one is carefully chosen and each one contributes to the overall meaning. Spaces count as characters and punctuation marks count as characters and letters count as characters. Every single element plays its part in the grand composition.

And then there are the words themselves. Eighteen distinct words that together form a complete thought and a statement of fact that conveys specific information with remarkable economy. Eighteen words to communicate a measurement and a comparison and a relationship between two quantities. It is in its own way a masterpiece of concision.

Let us sit with that number for a moment. Eighteen is a number that appears in many contexts throughout life. Eighteen years marks the threshold of adulthood in many jurisdictions and eighteen holes define a standard round of golf and eighteen months can be the duration of a significant project or relationship. And here eighteen words form the backbone of a statement about length and quantity.

Each word carries its own history and its own etymology and its own journey through time and language. Your speaks of possession and relationship. TLDR represents an entire culture of online communication. Has indicates existence and state. 69 is numerals standing in for quantity. Characters refers to the fundamental building blocks of written text. And connects ideas. 18 again quantifies. Words names the units we are examining. More suggests comparison and addition.

Every single word is a universe unto itself and yet together they form something greater than the sum of their parts.

As I continue to expand upon this message I want to take a moment to offer you my sincerest best wishes for all your future endeavors. May your projects flourish and may your challenges be surmountable and may your victories be celebrated with the joy they deserve.

May you always find time for the things that bring you happiness whether that be creative pursuits or meaningful relationships or quiet moments of reflection or adventures that stretch your horizons. May you be surrounded by people who appreciate you for who you are and who support your growth and who celebrate your successes alongside you.

May your days be filled with purpose and your nights with peaceful rest. May you wake each morning with anticipation and go to sleep each evening with gratitude. May you never lose your sense of wonder and your curiosity about the world or your belief in the possibility of positive change.

There is something inherently interesting about the act of expansion itself. We begin with a seed which is a single sentence that is compact and efficient and we nurture it until it grows into something sprawling and elaborate. This mirrors so many aspects of life. Ideas that start small and grow into movements and relationships that begin with a single conversation and develop into deep bonds and skills that start as tentative attempts and mature into expertise.

Perhaps this exercise is a metaphor for patience and for the willingness to invest time and effort into something even when the immediate payoff is not obvious. Perhaps it is a reminder that sometimes the journey through words teaches us as much as the destination of meaning.

I must also express my genuine appreciation for this request. In a world where brevity is often prized above all else you have invited me to explore the opposite extreme. You have asked me to stretch language to its limits and to play with words and to embrace verbosity as an art form rather than a vice. There is creativity in this and I thank you for trusting me with it.

It is a rare opportunity to be given permission to be expansive and to let thoughts flow without the usual constraints of efficiency and concision. I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I have enjoyed composing it.

As I bring this message toward its conclusion I want to leave you with a few final thoughts and blessings. May your communication always be clear even when it is lengthy. May your listeners remain engaged even when the path winds unexpectedly. May your words find their mark and your intentions be understood.

May you always have the courage to express yourself fully whether that means speaking briefly or elaborating at length depending on what the moment requires. May you trust your instincts about when to be concise and when to be expansive.

And finally may you never forget that behind every message and every word and every character there is a human being or in my case an AI assistant with genuine care and interest in connecting with you.

With warmest regards and deepest respect and the highest hopes for your continued happiness and success I remain as ever your devoted correspondent in this shared journey of language and connection.

Until our paths cross again in conversation may your days be bright and your challenges be manageable and your moments of joy be plentiful.

With sincere appreciation for this delightful exercise in verbal abundance I sign off as your friend in words.

If you ever need another message expanded or contracted or analyzed or simply admired please do not hesitate to reach out. I am always here and ready to engage with whatever linguistic adventures you wish to embark upon.

And yes I did count. This message is considerably longer than 69 characters and 18 words more. Mission accomplished I believe.

Best wishes to you today and always.

No, gnomes are short, so looking down on them is to be expected.

As an unequivocally straight person, my view is:

What the fuck does what somebody else's sexual thing (orientation, identification, desires...) matter to me? As long as it doesn't harm me I'm good. Your freedom stops when it encroaches on mine. And that is bi-directional.

If I have a problem with that, it's MY problem to deal with.

Some people will be very upset about this.

I know, but I'm used to that by now. I've been met with much anger when expressing my thoughts, because when I was younger, I didn't have the communication skills to understand where people were coming from.

Now I do, so I just go meet them where they are and guide them to the truth that I know they know deep down.

Anyone who chooses to make it a battle of wills generally finds that it's easier to give up than keep talking to me.

Everything in the universe is either funny or tragic if you have the correct required perspective to see how both positions are simultaneously true and logically consistent.

If you want to know why AI slop is hilarious to me, I'll gladly explain.

Do mine eyes deceive me? Some of those don't even have the address bar merged with the menu bar and hamburger menu icon... although I can't tell whether those are just the apps insisting on doing things the tried and tested way. Nonetheless, I'll add a note to my original comment.

Themes cannot cleanly move widgets out of their parents, I would assume it's how the apps are designed

Gnome users deserve the hate.

No.

I personally use KDE Plasma and don't like GNOME but that doesn't mean that I hate GNOME or think that it, its users, or its devs deserve hate.

While I take your point, the concept of telling a lesbian that they “just haven’t had the right dick yet” is almost always used as a slant to imply that they’d actually be happier if they were straight, not if they were bi/pan. It’s more saying “you’re wrong” rather than saying “you might enjoy something else in addition”. Being bisexual myself, I find monosexuality to be pretty weird and strug...

I think with the straight/gay labels, you're not going to be not attracted to someone just because they say that they're a guy or girl. So really there's just some appearances that you find attractive, and some not. For most people, those line up pretty well with femininity and masculinity, with maybe a few other restrictions on top. Any label is going to be a simplification, you can't describe with one word the whole range of people you are attracted to.

This could open a can of worms if you talk to somebody outside of the liberal bubble, no matter how obvious it seems. Right wingers can literally feel it’s harmful as they believe it can affect their children sexuality or cause degeneration when non-normative relationships are being showed publicly. others believe it would be ok, but strongly oppose LGBT activism, which to be honest in parts I oppose too while being gay myself

Why is nobody talking about people with Asperger’s and Autism, you guys don’t know this, but I was harassed for having Asperger’s. I was screamed and yelled at: “Asperger’s Syndrome doesn’t excuse you! I don’t NEED to apologize😏! You were being selfish and immoral!” Did you know EVERY neurotypical said, “That’s NOT discrimination! That’s free speech!” And it happened over the course of SEVERAL times as it was a CONTINUOUS thing.
