Screenshot of a UK voting intention poll and seat projection from Stats for Lefties based on a YouGov poll conducted 15 to 16 March. Vote shares show Reform at 25 percent, Greens at 19 percent, Labour at 17 percent, Conservatives at 17 percent, and Liberal Democrats at 14 percent. Despite leading with only 25 percent, Reform is projected to win 306 seats, close to a majority. Other projected seat totals are Liberal Democrats 91, Greens 85, SNP 46, Conservatives 43, and Labour 36. A map of Britain below shows heavily fragmented regional results with many different parties winning ridings across the country.

In most democracies, 25% of the vote means about 25% of seats. Under first-past-the-post, it could mean near total power.

This cannot be our future. Canada needs proportional representation.
