How do I simply copy a google photo to Clipboard so I can do a simple paste into any app?

I took a screenshot, but this would apply to anything in my Google photos. I simply want to share an image to an existing thread in a Facebook group, NOT to do a general share to Facebook in a new thread. The obvious way would be to paste from the clipboard. Is there an easy way to put a Google photo into the clipboard? There only seem to be share options. I don't want to share as a link, I want to paste the actual image.

Any solutions for this now we are in 2025?

thanks a lot
