Democrats had 4 years to prosecute Trump after Treason Day. No shit we "don't trust dems more". Sure, some dems individually are worth a damn, but 90% of them belong in prison (along with 100% of republicans) for enabling this shitshow.

So, no actual organizations in place. No financing. No leadership. It's not a plan, it's a wish list for Santa Claus.

You can start working on mutual aid today. it's not a wish list, it's something you can actually incorporate into your life. At a bare minimum treat it like church and participate for at least a couple of hours a week.

Ive been involved with a group making free food for the community for eight years. This is going to be a generational struggle. You already think that it would take 50 years of Democratic super majorities to accomplish anything, what's a decade or two of working to build robust community organizations that would facilitate a general strike?

And the icing on the cake is you can still vote for your democratic super majority; mutual aid/community organizing and voting are not mutually exclusive although I have to say voting is a very passive activity you might do a couple times a year a most. Building community organizations and mutual aid networks is much more involved and takes diligence and continual effort.

There's no reason you can't do both. If you are serious about fixing this country we are going to need to do everything we possibly can and then sustain that effort until the job is done.

He hit 30% in one poll

Which is nice but at 20% he’s lost 30% of his base. 10-15% represents the Jan6 bois. You’ll never lose them.

Except that attitude pretends that the election in front of you is the only election that will ever happen ever again. It's a short-sighted view that leads us to exactly where we are now. How is that going to happen without having a party elected into office though?

Well my friend your local elections matter. They are the foundation of this country. If I can’t trust you to elect a trustworthy person to represent your town or state…. Then how can I trust you to form a political party at the national level? So to answer your question, go elect someone accountable for the state level, then we can get the states together for that convention. You probably have a bunch of elected leadership ships in your local government that aren’t politically affiliated because it’s not important locally. But for some reason, it is nationally and the reason is money.

No financing. No leadership. Financing corrupts, leadership is corruptible. We need a bottom-up movement without that shit.

No leadership?

Read 'The Autobiography Of Malcolm X.'

He said that there's no achievement without leadership. even if it's only you, you have to discipline yourself.

Oh my goodness, you are one tracking on elections so hard. You ignore everything I say and circle right back around to voting. Alright I'll humor you.

Our plan for 2026 election:

-Vote in primary if applicable

-Vote in general

Great, super easy to get all of our planning done. It took all of five seconds and when it comes time to actually vote it will take less than an hour. I don't understand why we need to plan something this simple so far in advance but now we've got a plan.

Now that thats out of the way we can focus on more important things like finding ways to build more robust communities and serve our neighbors in need. The Democrats aren't coming to save anyone for literally years, there are hungry, unhoused, and unemployed people that need help now.

Do you even have a plan for what you will do if the Democrats don't win the election? What about if the Democrats win the election but still screw the working class? Are you going to wait 50 years to see if voting Democrat works or not before you try anything else? Given the Democrats performance over the past 50 years I'd say starting and stopping your political engagement at voting and electoralism is magical thinking, a hail Mary, all eggs in one basket, a recipe for disaster.

Say it with me, voting and mutual aid are not mutually exclusive. You can do both at the same time. Mutual aid/community organizing takes hard work on a regular basis while voting is a passive affair that takes a couple of hours a year at most. Of the two spending more of your focus and energy on the lower effort, passive option is a recipe for failure.

Did you read it? Do you understand?

Elections are what matters most.

You're going against people who will vote for the worst humans imaginable.

They got the Supreme Court because they vote in every election.

Whatever else you do doesn't matter if they can make it illegal.

It's meaningless unless you have a government that isn't trying to destroy you.

Satisfy my curiosity. Exactly which words demonstrated by 'bad faith?'

It's your attitude and it's as obvious as a zit on your nose. Nobody here owes you anything, and you've been treated with kid gloves by some very kind, intelligent people. I am neither of those things. Sit down, shut up, listen, and maybe learn something.

So, what exactly is your plan for the 2026 election?

How exactly are you going to counter Trump?

Be specific and provide as many details as possible.

That's my original comment, the one that has you in such a tizzy.

I use a loaded word like 'tizzy' because what you wrote makes no objective sense.

I asked to hear a plan and was told that I was acting in 'bad faith.'

And now you tell me to 'listen'

Is there any point where I'll hear the plan?

Because I really want to hear this plan.

Obama picked the ACA plan because it was based on a GOP idea and they fought him tooth and nail until the final vote. Then they turned around and demanded the Supreme Court abolish it. The only way you’ll get any change under the current system is to elect a Dem super majority in every election for the next fifty years. They had a Dem supermajority during that time. And what did they do with it...

They had a Dem supermajority during that time. And what did they do with it? They bent over backwards trying to ‘reach across the aisle’ and giving the GOP every single thing they asked for.

Hmm, this is quite a conundrum.

Who should I heed? A man who literally transformed the thinking of millions of people or some rando on the internet who is completely unable to put forth any thing like a rational plan of action.

By your logic, no one should pay attention to Gandhi, MLK, Abe Lincoln, or Leon Trotsky.

Also, by your logic, no one should listen to you because if they did, they'd be following you.

Well ... yes.

I am an anarchist, after all.

I mean, look at the world around you right now. Look what became of your revered leaders in history. How's this whole following leaders thing working out for you so far? Why do you think it will be any different going forward?

Explain the paradox.

If you reject all leadership, you can't follow the teachings of the anarchists who came before you. Therefore you can't be an anarchist.

lol, Anarchism isn't about following teachings of others. That's completely optional. The entire point of Anarchism is to reject authority. It would be self-defeating if we set up prominent anarchists of the past as authority figures.

You can read their stuff and learn from them, if you want to. Learn from them, don't follow them. And that might help. But, again, completely optional.

https://www.commoncause.org/work/stopping-a-dangerous-article-v-convention/ This makes me feel like a convention isn't the right way to go while money still equals power in government. I'm not sure what the process for outlining how the convention would work would be, but I don't think going in blind because it's a nuclear option is a great idea.

The reason I suggest Article V is that it’s the only option within our system of government remaining, since the 3 federal branches are so compromised by corruption.

Theoretically it could work because the delegates would be our state representatives. These are people we know in real life, whose homes we know the location of…etc. We the people could apply certain pressures to ensure they respect our demands and don’t go off the rails.

The establishment politicians will claim as you do here - that there are too many unknowns and it’s too dangerous to attempt. In actuality, they simply know they would lose their power and grift as a result, so of course they will fight this tooth and nail. The truth is that the real chaotic unknown happens with a violent coups, which is the final remaining option. Personally, I’d prefer the reform method outlined in our constitution to that any day.

I voted green party that year and it's the vote I regret the least. I went on to vote for Biden and then Harris

Thank you. Considered alternatives many times, but mostly in primaries (because it only helps the worst people win in general).

I don't think most people even understand what a primary is (and that we're having them literally right now). Not happy with elected reps? Go vote, pick your team (90% don't bother). Mail-in if disabled (any state). Check out candidates online. Lots of alts and progressives on primary ballots (on Dem side).

Of course not. We have only two choices of party: The Fascist party. The party that tells you to vote for them lest the Fascists win, but when elected, does nothing to fight the Fascists, reverse their worst atrocities, or prevent them from coming back to power.

Its feeling kinda Weimar Republic over here lately.

Nope. Being told “it’s her turn” was it for me. You had a pro Wall Street, pro War candidate versus Bernie. I think a lot of young people either didn’t vote or switched sides that year.

Telling your future voting pool to shut up and take more austerity and less opportunity so Wall Street can get rich ain’t it DNC

I have a bet going with my father in law over the US midterms. He believes that the American midterms will swing things towards the Democrats and their country will get back on track. I took the cynical bet and said there was no way midterms would swing government control, because a) a large portion of the population is not inspired to go out and support the Democrats even if they don’t love the current administration and b) I fully expect whatever amount of fraud is necessary to ensure a Republican win despite poor polling.

I always hope I’m wrong and just taking being a pessimist, but articles like this make me realize that I might well be drowning my sorrows in a very nice bottle of wine in November.
