Does neo-luddite mean the new usage of Luddite where people just dislike technology?

Or does it keep the OG Luddite philosophy that if technological advances doesn't improve the lives of the working class, we should burn down the expensive technology while refusing to work...

Cuz like...

There's not much that needs updated, calling it "neo-luddite" when it's the original meaning is just something I'm too pedantic to ever get behind

I'm down for some old school luddism content tho

Neo-Luddism is a broader critique of technology than the original Luddism which focused on manufacturing machines taking away skilled work. For example Ellul points out how technology (technique) reshapes the whole of society for its own benefit and Kaczynski points out technology's negative effects on freedom, the environment and mental health. Wikipedia has an article on Neo-Luddism if you are interested.
