This community is for discussions about The Big Lai - the belief that "AI" exists. The scientific reality that is computer programs are not "intelligent". This kind of disinformation is widely spread and accepted both by those who support and oppose "AI". It includes wild claims, anthropomorphic language, fear/hope mongering, etc. Like other "big lies", this Big Lai serves fascism and has been almost completely normalized within the imperial core.

Unenforced Guidelines:

  • Specify- Where applicable, please correct the term "AI" with the actual technology being used. Brackets optional.
  • Don't Generalize - Please don't generalize specific technologies into "AI".
  • Hyperbole - Please don't hyperbolize about "AI".
  • Anthropomorphism - Please don't anthropomorphize computers running programs.
  • Quotes - If we must talk about nonexistent "AI", please use quotation marks.
  • Don't feed the grift.
