So I've been away from Lego sets for a while, and I just thought it might be fun to find a space set to build and have fun with. Now for context I grew up with the 90's/00's Space sets, such as
Basically all the subthemes on this page: https://brickipedia.fandom.com/wiki/Space (seeing them all gives a lot of nostalgia). Now I had a look at the Lego website for current similar sets, and it looks like there's only 1 (!) Space set? https://www.lego.com/en-us/themes/city?filters.i0.key=categories.id&filters.i0.values.i0=14addeb5-c1c9-47c6-8524-3cc7e52d303e Other sets are still listed, but retired: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/modular-galactic-spaceship-60446 I've been reading a few threads on forums, and it seems like this is mostly because Lego wants to focus on Star Wars sets, where they make more money? I'm not really the biggest fan of franchised stuff, Star Wars and others, so is second hand basically the only way to get sets like the Modular Galactic Spaceship? |

The yellow was a bit before my time, for me it is the orange from the ice planet. |

Within the last 2~3 years they had a few City space sets that are the same sport of space Corp miner thing. Pretty sure they did a whole space year thing that year. https://brickipedia.fandom.com/wiki/Space/2024_theme https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/space-explorer-rover-and-alien-life-60431 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/command-rover-and-crane-loader-60432 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/modular-space-station-60433 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/modular-galactic-spaceship-60446 With some of that line already being retired https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/spaceship-and-asteroid-discovery-60429 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/space-construction-mech-60428 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/surface-space-loader-lt78-42178 https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/space-base-and-rocket-launchpad-60434 And a mini fig set https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/series-26-space-71046 Don't forget about Artemis, the shuttle carrier, astronaut, Mars rover, and solarium either. |

I know they're not quite the same as the Modular Space stuff, but there's a few 3-in-1 space sets available currently: Nasa Mars Rover: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/nasa-mars-rover-perseverance-42158 Lunar Outpost Moon Rover: https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/lunar-outpost-moon-rover-space-vehicle-42211 |

I was gonna comment "what about the entire new series they came out with a couple years ago?" so I'm glad someone else did in more detail. |

These were my favourite Lego sets, all the older space ones. Black tron, m tron, space police, ice, etc. Anything branded comes with baggage but these were free for whatever adventures I could think of. I still have all my old Lego, but I never got that huge mtron 6 wheeler |
