For anyone with travel plans with their pets to the east, double check their vaccination histories.

For those who don't know, dogs are at extreme risk when they walk through an infected dog's feces. But dogs who are sick with parvovirus, and their owners, can get other dogs sick just by walking around in proximity. That's why the article emphasizes parvovirus can be "everywhere" and "highly contagious".
