For some reason in conversation, when I say something that even vaguely implies anything, it’s always assumed that I don’t understand the point of the conversation???

For example:

“Yeah that little TV works btw. It plays the whole Shrek movie.”

“Lol I love that you tried to do that.”

“No like it actually works”

Or…

“Our particles both aren’t working today.”

“Yeah it’s weird because I’m using the same ones I usually do.”

“I hate to break it to you but we’re using completely different particles.”

“No these are the same ones, OM018” (I thought she meant ‘we’ as in ‘the experiment we designed’ that I was doing)

“No like I’m using different ones than you right now”

Why is it assumed that I didn’t know basic facts about the situation? These were said with such confidence that I was wrong too and I was just like “??? I know??? When did I say otherwise???”.

Do I just come across as someone who doesn’t pay attention? I do ask for clarification with numbers and stuff sometimes but why is my ability to understand being so underestimated :(
