Cold reading is always limited by the reader's preconceived notions, and if they don't consider queer answers as a possibility, they'll never propose them. It also rarely digs deep enough to uncover non obvious or unexpected truths. Even someone like me would have trouble sussing out an egg unless they made it obvious and were already quite open to the idea.

Would say it's up to the person to decide if they want to see their own future, and whether they're fully open to it.

personally I still err on not doing that, just letting them know instead that if they ever have doubts about their feelings, they can always speak with us. However deep these feelings, I'm not there to judge.
