I've had beers, ciders, and other alcohol before (Kahlua is great on ice cream). This was my first Smirnoff Ice (grape, if that matters). Why would I vomit up 3 hours later? It was just one bottle. Does SI just disagree with some folks? Since I know you'll worry, I feel much better for having emptied my stomach. I know I should have grabbed a towel as soon as I felt ill, but at least it's my mess to deal with now. And my area carpet is washable and fits in the washing machine. I'm not tempting fate and I've told my partner that the rest of the six pack is all his. |

Have you specifically had smirnoff before? Or any vodka for that matter? My mom is allergic to vodka, and she gets very ill if she accidently has any. Any other alcohol is fine, only vodka causes issues. Could just be that simple. |

Ginger tea helps with nausea. Yogi brand is pretty damn good. Sucks that it happened, but glad to know you’re doing okay. Rough lesson learned. 😅 |

I've had vodka before, but never Smirnoff and never a whole bottle's worth, just minis/nips, mixed into other things. So maybe it's a quantity thing. I'll watch out for vodka. Thank you. |

My only thought was that maybe the zero calorie ones use invert sugars, as those will mess up my system badly. But in that case it isn't usually vomit but the other way. Just glad you're feeling better after the purge! |

Smirnoff Ice is just kind of gross and unpalatable in general. Like to the point where “icing” someone is a frat-tier prank where you hide one and whoever finds it has to drink it. As an “alchopop” I don’t think it has enough to mess with the stomach like that, although alcohol can be very variable in how it impacts you (my body just rejects straight liquor, I get drunk quicker on beer). Might have been the Smirnoff, might have just been your stomach getting upset for no reason (this will happen as you get older with or without alcohol, although obviously alcohol makes it much worse) |

I don't think Ice contains any vodka, it's a malt beverage (similar to an intentionally flavorless beer with artificial flavors added) |

I think the recipe varies depending on what country you're in. This listing in Canada, says "premium vodka beverage", while in the US, it's a malt beverage. |

Sugary drinks and alcohol can be rough on the stomach. Your body may have just made a calculation that producing the enzymes and everything to process this unholy beverage just wasn't worth it. |

Smirnoff Ice is the same thing as Zima, but with flavors. It's a malt liquor, or Clearmalt as Zima is called. |

Smirnoff ice is what I drink when I want to drink something lighter than a beer. Unless you usually can't handle one beer I don't think it's the alcohol. Must be some ingredients you're allergic to, or you got a light heatstroke or something |

That's curious about your mother. I'm pretty sure she would have to be allergic to one (or more) of the ingredients used to make the vodka, which would typically be some type of grain. Otherwise she would be allergic to (more likely, intolerant of) anything containing ethanol. |

The good news, op, is that you are not missing much by never having a Smirnoff ice ever again if you don't want to. I've also had cheap alcoholic drinks (especially the sugary ones) where I felt sick after, more than from the alcohol. As always, water is your friend in these situations. And rest. Glad you're feeling better now |

🙅That is vanishingly unlikely for multiple reasons. |

Maybe it's because of the beers, ciders and other alcohol, you've had before the Smirnoff Ice. ;) Or maybe it's because that stuff is disgusting and you discovered, that you have good taste, actually. Stick with proper drinks from now on. Jokes aside, there's always the chance that the bottles got dirty during transport and you caught something from it. It's a pretty slim chance, I know no one who washes their bottle necks and caps before drinking. |
