I wonder what capabilities the vehicles have that are of concern? Cameras? Microphone? I read a suggestion that countries simply mandate that anything sold in the country which operates with software and has the ability to disrupt items of national security be made with software that is auditable and preferably ooen source software. Cars, routers, solar power controllers, computers, etc. |

Why can't cars just be simply made with no communication capabilities whatsoever? The obsession with car companies wanting to collect and sell data on top of selling the vehicle in the first place is obscene. |

If I won the lottery, I'm torn between buying a cool classic car and having it electrified but dumb as fuck, or buying a cool modern EV and paying modders to rip out any connectivity and software I don't control absolutely. |

You'd be better off doing the former as there don't appear to be any services that de-ratfuck your privacy in modern cars. I was recently forced into buying a '22 Chevy Bolt but discovered a DIY method of removing some of its OnStar telemetry by following this guide: |

How about just remove the car's ability to not be able to send messages to anything? You know, like an air-gapped PC. |

What about US cars? I guess it's one adversary a time.
Wait until they find out about the psycho that owns Tesla. |
