Ask me anything: I'm a Minecraft Bedrock Edition add-on developer! I craft free and open-source add-ons (most of them are still private, though, until they reach a state and quality I'm satisfied with).

I'm not a Minecraft Marketplace partner, and I'm not affiliated with anyone who is.

Also, if you do not like Minecraft Bedrock Edition or add-ons, just ignore this post :) I don't seek any hate speech; rather, I want to answer questions from those who want to know more about this often misunderstood field.

I'm generally a very creative person, so I source my ideas from all kinds of things. But when I'm specifically looking for inspiration, I usually ask friends what they would like or watch modded Java Edition gameplay on YouTube. One of my favorite sources of inspiration on YouTube is "Content SMP." It is a partially scripted SMP with many participants who develop their own mods for it.

If there are any public addons, where do you find them? On Github? Codeberg? Gitlab?

I publish mine on Codeberg (and CurseForge), I also saw a group of people publishing their add-on there; I also know of some people publishing them on GitHub. Opensource is sadly not as big as it's in the Java Edition modding community, so most free (free as in beer) add-ons are distributed on CurseForge, MCPEDL.com (alternative CF frontend, since it got bought) and ModBay.org.
