Which is, of course, ridiculous. Reality tv is the manifestation of everything wrong with society, not the cause.

Sounds like it's more them saying a handful of bisexuals can ruin the format by making it so some straight people don't have anyone to pair with.

Clearly the answer is to only have bisexuals and/or gender fluid in a special edition season. Then another just for strict homosexuals. (I've never watched the show, all I know of it I have learned in this comment chain.)

For the contestants yes, for the showrunner no. The whole point of these shows is to create artificial conflict. Adding in LGBT people increases the complexity of the game by adding more potential pairings.
