With the first World Cup match on June 13 at MetLife Stadium, only 4,000 train tickets had been sold for that game as of Tuesday, representing only 10% of the 40,000 fans expected to be moved by rail.

“There should be concern. We’re 11 days out and if the transportation plan doesn’t work it will be another disaster. It will make the Super Bowl look like a tea party by comparison,” said an official involved with the World Cup planning, who is not authorized to speak to the media.

These resellers are gonna be left holding the bag, no-one is buying:

“We’re 11 days out from Game 1 and 85% of the ticket holders have not chosen a transportation option,” Kolluri said. “We don’t know how many of these tickets are being held by people who are actually going to the game or resellers.

NJT should offer a bus service to the scalper pity party, and charge $250 for a round trip ticket.
