I am fortunate to have accumulated a fair amount of large HDDs before prices skyrocketed. What can I do to maximize their lifetime? I have a few that are basically just backups of other HDDs - would I be better off taking them offline and switching to another media like tape? Or are they going to degrade even if in a drawer?
