I spent a long time waiting until I felt confident enough to speak. Turns out that feeling never really arrived:)

The biggest improvement came when I started talking anyway, even if I made mistakes or had to stop and think. I've been practicing this more lately, including some speaking conversations on Praktika with tutors as well reading books and watching series with subtitles and I've noticed that getting started is usually the hardest part.

Once you're a minute into the conversation, it feels much easier than it did in your head.
