and also, a reason why the body mostly uses sugar molecules instead of fat molecules for energy metabolism is probably because sugar has polar groups (-OH groups) that are electrically charged, so it's easier to grasp those with the fingers (which are also charged), while fatty acids are not charged, so they're hard to grasp. so it's easier for enzymes to attack sugars than fats, and that is why sugar metabolism is orders of magnitudes faster than fat metabolism.
