I really want it to be a cartoon
It would work so much better as a cartoon than any kind of live action, no matter how many special effects they threw at it. Plus there is already a manga that they could draw inspiration for the characters from it. |

God an adult cartoon would slap. Feel like they are having a renaissance right now, between Rick and Morty, Invincible, Arcane, Blue Eye Samurai. Sadly this looks like it's going to be live action. |

This. There's so much stuff that is real difficult to pull off in live action and is super simple animated. One of the main characters is a talking cat. And honestly, just having him in his boxers the whole time will be less weird if animated. |
