Hej, Are there users of Graphene that are able to run MitID and banking? On the road to owning my data, and this is one the most complicated steps. I’m curious for your experiences! As it’s still quite an investment to switch to Android/Graphene |

I love my Graphene setup! I cannot tell you whether your banking app specifically would work, but a few comments on my experience, in case it is of interest: I never used my banking app on my phone prior to Graphene either, so I have never bothered trying to install it. I bank on my laptop. When I installed Graphene I also stopped using Google Pay. I just carry a card with me in a holder in my phone case, same thing really. Revolut I do use on my phone, and it works fine on Graphene. MitID I assumed would not work, so I never tried. I ordered a Kodeviser, and for me it has not been an issue to not have the app, once I got used to it. The only apps I had any trouble with were MobilePay and Rejsekortet at first. Both work fine now, after some minor tweaks to settings. So all in all, there's a few slightly more manual things, like using a physical payment card and a Kodeviser, but I am happy with that tradeoff. The actual installation and setup up Graphene was super easy as well, so you could always give it a shot, and revert if you find it doesn't work for you. |

For the time being MitID is still broken due to the play store integrity check, most of the Danish community opted for the free hardware code generator, I tried to get MitID chip working I have given up getting to even finish the setup. The code generator works flawlessly. |

Hej hej, I'm in the same boat currently doing the same transition so perhaps someone with more experience should answer... But if you can stand an answer from one of those forbandede svenskere, here goes nothing. I'm guessing MittID is similar to Swedish BankID used for all kinds of authentication, like for banks and taxes n stuff. Currently BankID does not have a GitHub or similar release page so obtainium is out. I want to minimize the use of Google play as much as possible which leads me to install this via the Aurora store. So thats what I would try if I where you. If I want to install an app I try these methods In order:
Good luck on your journey! |

Thank you for the answer Are there any downsides to using the kodeviser? Or is it just the having to click something in the pop-up, and having to carry it with you? |

It works just the same. You just have to carry the device around with you, or only do MitID stuff at home. The biggest downside is that you can only have one, so there is no backup. With the app you can still have the keychain as a backup for if you lose your phone. |

And is there a security mechanism on the keychain? Or is it just whoever has it can use it? |

Anyone can use the keychain, but you have to enter a password along with the one-time key and username. |

This true, there is no backup Kodeviser. I actually have the MitID app installed and set up on an old phone, which just sits in my drawer. If I lose the Kodeviser, I can power that phone up and revert to the app, until I can order a new Kodeviser. So that is my plan for backup. |

Yes, you can always install all apps from play store but if you want to minimize data sent to Google this should be the last resort. As said I would try and install the Aurora store and then install the app from there. And if that does not work setup a private space with Google services and play store. I'm running the pixel 10 but pixel version shouldn't matter in most cases as far as I understand. |
